Welcome

'Love one another, as I have loved you' John 13 v34

Welcome to Benson Church of England Primary School.

Welcome to Benson C of E Primary School.  Our school has a team of skilled and dedicated staff who work to support all children to feel safe, and to achieve to the best of their potential.  Our vision of loving one another is lived out through positive relationships and a commitment to supporting all to flourish on their learning journey.  We are proud to be part of Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust (ODST), a thriving Multi-Academy Trust consisting of over 40 schools across Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

As a school team, our aim is to help children achieve their potential, supporting where required or providing additional opportunities. Ultimately, we want our children to love learning and experience a core knowledge and set of skills. Our progressive curriculum is planned to be exciting, include rich experiences and support all children to be fully engaged in their learning.

Our children are kind, enthusiastic about their learning and well behaved. They are very proud of their school along with their personal achievements. Children articulate and demonstrate the school's core values of: Understanding, Peace, Forgiveness, Love, Kindness and Wisdom. They care for each other and adults within the community.

Benson is a 'Five to Thrive' school.  We all show we are ready to learn by following five key expectations:

  • Be kind
  • Show respect
  • Use your manners
  • Try your best
  • Learning from mistakes

We believe in strong partnerships with parents so that children can share their learning at home and be supported with homework. All staff aim to work closely with parents, to enable children to flourish.  Friends of Benson School (FoBs) is a thriving group of parents, friends and staff dedicated to fundraising. The school benefits from resources purchased with funds raised from a variety of events.
