Friday 5th February

In reading today, we're going to be practising the S of our VIPERS skills: summarising. Remember, a summary is a short overview of something which is the most effective when it is brief and contains only key information.
Today, you'll need to read chapter 18: Stan the taxi man and then write a summary to retell the key things which happened in this chapter. You can print out the sheet below to write on or write in your lined exercise book.
Your challenge today is to choose the part of your summary which you think is most important and explain why you chose this.

In literacy today, we're going to do some work around the 5 Ws. Read through the PDF called Friday Literacy to find out more and practise the activity before you start the 5 Ws sheet below. You could print it off to write on your write in your lined exercise book.
Below are your spelling words to practise at home. There won't be any spellings next Friday as the week after is half term!

In maths today, we're going to learn how to solve one-step equations. Watch the video here and then complete the sheet below. As always, you may need to watch the video more than once and you will need to watch the video. Remember, if you're struggling, try and do the first page of the sheet. You can also find the answer sheet below to mark once you're finished. If you'd like to challenge yourself, there's a challenge sheet below. You can print this off to write on or type on it. When you're finished, check your work with the answer sheet below.

For PSHCE today, I'd like you to choose one of two activities.
Either, choose one of the activities from the Mental Health Week menu which you haven't completed yet or
Choose one way you would like to express yourself and who you are. This could be through art, music, cooking, writing, your clothing or however you choose! Then, take a photo of how you decide to express yourself and either send it to me or keep it safe so that we can share them when we're back in school.
