Friday 8th January
Good morning Hawthorn!
Today in maths, we'll be looking at multiplying decimals by integers. Remember, an integer is a whole number. Watch the video here https://vimeo.com/490690764 and then complete the sheet below. Try to answer at least the questions on the first page of the sheet. When you're finished, you can mark your answers with the answer sheet. You'll also find a challenge sheet below. Make sure you challenge yourself if you've found the questions quite easy!
We'll have a reading lesson instead of a literacy one today. We're going to read the beginning of the next chapter of The Boy at the Back of the Class and answer some questions about it. I will email a video of me reading it to your parents. You can see the pages I'm reading too so you can follow along. You'll need a pen or pencil and a piece of paper to write down your answers. Make sure you pause the video when you hear a question so you have time to answer it.
We'll be doing some sketching in art this term. Today, we're going to practise using perspective. Read through the PDF below to find out more about our learning and the instructions for today's activity. If you're struggling, print out the sheet below to draw on.
Your spelling words this week all contain the letter string ough.
Ough can make four different sounds:
an ‘oo’ sound as in through
‘long o’ sound as in dough
an ‘off’ sound as in cough
an ‘uff’ sound as in rough
Practise the spellings words below. You can choose how you'd like to practise them.
Remember, there won't be a Zoom meeting today as we won't have them every day until next week.
If I don't speak to you today, I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing you again on Monday! :)
