Elm & Beech Reception

Welcome to Elm and Beech Reception Class!

On this page we will be sharing information that is relevant to children in both Elm and Beech classes, such as our termly learning overview and curriculum information.

The adults helping you learn are:

Mr Morris - Class Teacher for Elm (Mon-Fri)

Miss Turner Hurd - Class Teacher for Beech (Mon - Fri)

Mrs Day - Teaching Assistant (Mon-Fri)

Mrs Short - Teaching Assistant (Wed and Fri)

In Elm and Beech Class, the children are encouraged to be enthusiastic, creative, embrace new challenges, and be ready to begin their exciting journey through school life.

The children’s learning and development is recorded in a Floor Book, which are regularly shared with both adults and children throughout the year. Updates to parents are frequently made on Tapestry also so they can see their child's learning in action.

This term in Reception...

This term in Reception, we will be learning all about the jungle and the rainforest. We will investigate the animals that live their and explore why some animals are better at hiding than others (Camoflauge).

We will also be looking at the different foods that might be found in the rainforest by having a food tasting afternoon full of all the exotic fruits (e.g. avocado, mango, kiwi and many more).

We will continue with our SCARF and will be learning all about Rights and Respect.
