Homework & Spellings
Children will receive topic homework and spellings in terms 1, 3 and 5. In terms 2, 3 and 6, alternate, weekly maths and literacy homework and weekly spellings will be given. This will support the children with the learning that takes place in school.
Homework takes 30-45 minutes a week and should not act as a source of stress. Within the Parent Information page, you will find a page called ‘learning support’ this page will provide support for key terminology and mathematical methods we use in class. If despite best efforts your child is struggling to complete their homework, please contact our class email and I will support your child with this in school.
Spellings will take place weekly. Children will be provided with a small red spelling book which will contain their weekly spellings and their results of their weekly spelling test. The children will practice these in school daily but will also benefit from revisiting them at home.
At the beginning of each term the children will be set a topic project based on their school topic. You will find information on the topic projects in the project tab above.
